1. Attraction to the aesthetic.
Recently someone asked me why I am so passionate about nature photography. That is a really good question. I have always been a person with a deep appreciation for the aesthetic, whether that is a gorgeous sunset or a cool car. And that appreciation for beauty just naturally carried over into photography.
But there is more to it than that. When God gives you a gift, and you use it for His glory and not your own, it comes wrapped in the greatest joy and euphoria imaginable, even in times of difficulty or struggle. I can’t tell you how many times I have been sleep deprived, freezing, or soaked to the bone, or dead tired after hiking up steep terrain carrying heavy camera gear, and still found joy in it. And that’s what separates my photography from 99% of the rest.
4. Inspire Others
5. Glorify God
I offer up these images as a form of praise to the Great Creator, Jesus, through whom, and for whom, and by whom, all things were created. And I never tire of it, and will continue to pursue this joy as long as I am physically able.
